About Hexagram Dreams
What it is
Hexagram Dreams is an I Ching app for iOS and Android.
- 3-coin casting: six taps build the hexagram line by line, with changing lines, the primary hexagram and the resulting hexagram.
- Hexagram library: the texts of all 64 hexagrams, with search, available offline.
- AI interpretation: a reading tailored to your question, your hexagrams and your changing lines, in the app language. It needs a network connection.
- Journal: save readings with your question, notes, hexagrams and interpretation. Filter by date, and export all readings as CSV or PDF, or a single reading as PDF.
- Statistics: totals, streaks, how many of the 64 hexagrams you have encountered, activity over time and your most frequent hexagrams.
- Practice reminders: local notifications on the weekdays and at the time you choose.
Casting, the hexagram library and the journal work offline and without an account.
For traditional practitioners
If you cast with physical coins or yarrow stalks, you can log the reading by hexagram numbers through manual input. A coin-cast guide helps you build the hexagram from its trigrams. The app then works as a reference library and a journal for your practice. It is not a replacement for your ritual.
Pricing
- Hexagram Dreams is free to download and free to cast.
- The free tier currently includes 5 new journal entries and 3 AI interpretations per 30 days. These allowances can change.
- A Pro subscription removes these limits and unlocks the advanced statistics cards.
- In-app ads appear only if you choose to watch one instead of subscribing when a free allowance runs out.
Languages
The app is available in 33 languages: Albanian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Macedonian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.
Privacy
- You can use the app without signing in. Your readings are stored on your device by default.
- Cloud sync across devices is optional. It needs a Google sign-in on Android, or a Google or Apple sign-in on iOS.
- App lock protects your readings with a passcode or biometrics.
- On iOS, Firebase Analytics runs only if you allow tracking under App Tracking Transparency.
- Crash reporting is anonymized: no personally identifiable information is sent.
- When you request an AI interpretation, the text of your question and the hexagram context are sent to the AI provider for processing.
